Even though you may do your makeup very beautifully on a day-to-day basis, you must be aware that what you see in person is not what you'll see on film or video. The camera interprets colors differently, so makeup colors must be selected with knowledge of how it will ultimately appear in a photograph or video. Shadows must fall in their proper places, and fade in a graceful manner in sync with the natural underlying colors of the skin. One odd color or reflection in the wrong place can ruin the look of every photograph. Classic styling is a must...trends in hair and makeup will quickly become dated. Care must be taken to ensure that hairstyles stay up and in place throughout the entire affair, and that headpieces are held securely.

On the day of your preview, you will have a private consultation with the hair and makeup artists to discuss your desired look. During this 60-90 minute session, we will suggest makeup, skincare and hair choices, which match your tastes and preferences. We have worked with Brides of every ethnicity, skin tone, and hair type. Beautiful Brides' intention is to present the range of beauty options available to you. The preview is an opportunity for us to get to know you, your likes, dislikes and the look you have envisioned for your wedding day, so that you feel complete, comfortable and beautiful. We welcome any photographs/pictures of your look, dress and styles that have caught your eye. We want to make sure you understand that the preview is your time to explore all your options. Be vocal. Don't be shy in discussing your wants. We document the entire preview and take photos so that any adjustments can be made on your wedding day.

Consider purchasing your veil after you have decided how you would like to wear your hair. You should be choosing your hairstyle based on you—not the veil you bought. If you already have your veil, please bring it. Know that if your veil is an intricate part of your envisioned hairstyle then it is absolutely necessary for you to bring your veil to the preview. We like you to come to the preview with hair that has been previously washed and dried. It is okay to use any of your hair products that you normally would use in your hair. Just please don't arrive with wet hair. Your face should be clean and free of all makeup, just moisturizer. So that color does not influence the makeup, we also request you wear a fitted white blouse, t-shirt or halter top, so that the neckline is similar to that of your wedding dress.

Our makeup artists use various products by MAC, Bobbi Brown, Benefit, Senna, Aveda and many others. We carry a variety of products for every skin type, tone and ethnicity. We welcome you to bring specific products of your own if there is a need. Please make us aware if you have any allergies to certain products or chemicals. Over the years we have listened to numerous Brides discuss their preferences and dislikes about makeup. Although brides approach makeup with many objectives in mind, they all want the same result. To look in the mirror on their wedding day and feel confident that she looks and is as gorgeous as she can be. We want you to look like YOU just at your most beautiful, without loosing your own sense of style.

Our previews are all done in our studio, located at 1116 Eighth Street, #G, Manhattan Beach, CA 90266, 310.376.5630, by appointment only. We schedule previews Monday - Fridays, day and evenings, and some select weekends. Please keep in mind that weekends are usually occupied with brides, but we do our best to accommodate you. Due to seasonal demands, we suggest you call us soon to reserve your date. To ensure that we can accommodate you on your special day, we take reservations up to a year in advance. At the completion of your preview, if you desire our services, then we would require a deposit for services (for the Bride only) to hold your wedding date and time. The deposit required is half of the fee for your wedding date. Two weeks prior to your wedding, we will need a final count of the number of people who will need hair and makeup services. The balance of services to be provided for the Bride and the bridal party is due one week prior your wedding day.
